Stainless Steel Mailboxes – An Essential, Not A Luxury

Even in these days of instant communications, traditional mail (also referred to as snail mail) is very important. It may not be as widely used as it was once, but there will always still be a need for it.
There will always be packages and other things that people either do not want to, or can not, send electronically and, so long as that remains the case, there will be a need for mailboxes.
Everything from Christmas gifts to valuable documents are sent by snail mail, and the public see it as a safe method of getting something from A to B. However, whilst they view the method itself as safe enough, there are security issues, the biggest one by far being the leaving of their delivered letters, documents and packages in a flimsy, unsecured mailbox.
To protect your mail, both from human mischief and the natural elements, a stainless steel mailbox is not only advisable, but essential. Yet, despite the low cost of them relative to the items that they protect, most people still do not have one.
So, why is stainless steel such an ideal material to make a mailbox from? Well, it is strong, secure, lasts a long time, is easy to clean, and looks great. It is no co-incidence that so many other products are also made from stainless steel.
From a security point of view, they are ideal. Thieves always tend to look for the easiest option, and your mailbox will no longer be that, especially if you opt for one with a lock and key or combination lock.
Stainless steel mailboxes also rate highly with regard to style, as you can find them in all kinds of shapes, colors and sizes. Whether you want a standard, plain black or white one, a bright red one in the shape of a car, or something in-between, you will able to find just what you are looking for.
As for price, stainless steel mailboxes do tend to be more expensive than other ones but, as with everything in life, you get what you pay for. By paying an extra or so now, you can have the peace of mind that your post will be as safe as possible.

Question by Sarah: What happens if we lost the key for our apartment mailbox?
My roommate lost the key to our mailbox and won’t admit that it was him. I know it was him because I used to keep the key on my key chain and then he took it off so he would be able to check the mail whenever he wanted to. Well now it’s gone so does anyone know what happens? Like can we get a new one or will our landlord probably make us pay for it? I’m so pissed heeeelp.
Best answer:
Answer by Todd G
The landlord will probably charge a small fee, like maybe $ 5 or $ 10.
