Question by darkid: What are the offenses for receving handwritting notes on the mailbox?

I received a handwritting note on the mail from one of my neighbors, they were threating me about something. I found it in my mailbox on top of my mail, and i heard its illegal, where can i report it? I want to know what’s the punishment. PLease!!!! Thank you !!
My neighbor talked about adult issues, so I don’t know why he or she didn’t just knock on my door and talked to me about it.

I would probably start by talking to the manager at your local post office where your mail is delivered from. Boy, that is quite bold of that neighbor. Don’t they know that technically it is illegal to do that?
Our gardener puts our bill in an envelope and drops it in our mailbox rather than knock on our door or put it under our doormat. I don’t mind since our mailbox is a locked mailbox. I could see if you are receiving threatening notes though. That is awful. Does your neighbor thing that he/she is in elementary school? Adults normaly are able to talk and discuss their issues with one another and find some common ground on how to resolve issues.
I hope that you guys can figure out a way to resolve whatever is wrong. It’s no fun when there is friction in the neighborhood. I wish you well.
